Blair Academy

The annual charge for the current academic year for boarding students is $66,500. This fee covers tuition, room and board. The annual charge for day students is $46,500, which covers tuition, study rooms and meals at school Monday through Saturday.

Blair has a long tradition of support for need-based financial aid. We seek to enroll outstanding applicants and to ensure that the opportunity of a Blair education is open to all, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Recognizing that a Blair education is a substantial investment in a child’s future, we encourage students of all socioeconomic backgrounds to apply for admission. We currently award more than $7.35 million annually to assist approximately 40 percent of our students.

Tuition For Current Year

Deposits will be required in the student’s debit-card account to cover purchases of textbooks and supplies, personal items from the athletic store, campus center, activities and health center charges.

There are additional fees for art courses, music lessons, driver’s education, special testing, class trips and other items. Some fees will be required in advance and others will be billed. A schedule of these fees will be supplied by the business office upon request.

For families who opt to enroll in the Blair Academy Tuition Refund Plan, there is a charge of $900 for boarding students, and $630 for day students (although those fees are discounted to $450 and $310 if paid in full before school starts).

Financial Aid

Each year, applicants for financial aid outnumber the grants available; thus, the Financial Aid Committee must grant awards on a competitive basis to students whose families’ economic status clearly indicates the need for such funding and whom we consider most deserving. In order to objectively assess demonstrated financial need, Blair Academy uses School and Student Services (SSS) in reviewing financial aid applications.
