Special training fees unaffiliated with GMVS, air fare to, and racing expenses (overnight, entry fees and meals) and camps are also not included. Figures are based on the assumption that each student remains enrolled for the entire year. No reduction or refund is made for early withdrawal, dismissal or absence. Green Mountain Valley School recognizes that the decision to attend an independent school is a major one, and we aim to make GMVS a reality for every family who sincerely wishes to partake of a ski academy education. Socioeconomic diversity is at the core of providing a healthy, dynamic experience for all who are connected to our community.
In order to be considered for need-based financial assistance, families must complete an application processannually through School and Student Service (SSS). This organization looks at family income, expenses, assets, and debts, as well as family size and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools to determine a level of financial need. GMVS’s Financial Aid Committee uses the report in conjunction with our financial aid policies to determine what a family could contribute to educational expenses. Financial aid cannot be awarded until the school has received and reviewed the report and requested document from the SSS.
Applications in the form of a Parent Financial Statement must be filled out online and can be found at https://www.solutionsbysss.com/parents. We also require that you upload and submit your most recent. Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ. For additional information, please refer to our current year Financial Aid Informational sheet or contact Assistant Head of School Tim Harris at [email protected].
Green Mountain Valley School has partnered with Smart Tuition for the processing and collection of tuition and fees. All families are required to enroll in Smart Tuition and pay tuition through its billing service. Through Smart Tuition, families will be able to select the most appropriate payment schedule, view their balances, make payments, and review their account information. Tuition may be paid via one, two, or five payments. Families electing to pay in five installments will be charged an administrative fee of $250. Families will be automatically enrolled or re-enrolled in Smart Tuition upon accepting a Current year GMVS Enrollment Agreement.
The Tuition Refund Plan (the “Plan”) is the only means by which any tuition refund will be made for students who leave school before the end of the academic year for any reason, whether such departure is voluntary or involuntary. Participation in the Plan is required and will be billed automatically on your annual statement. You may opt-out of the Plan if (1) your tuition is paid in full prior to August 15th, and (2) you decline in writing to Barb Frascella. We cannot grant a refund for the cost of the tuition insurance premium after August 25th of last year. The cost is 2.5% of the tuition due. Tuition insurance is provided by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. Please refer to the accompanying “Tuition Refund Plan Brochure” for additional information. Please read the brochure from A.W.G. Dewar carefully so that you understand the potential benefit to your family.
