Realize your potential. Change the world. These six words form the core of the Glenlyon Norfolk School experience.
GNS challenges young minds with a first-class academic experience complemented by extensive exposure to artistic, athletic and service opportunities.
Every GNS student is an IB student, and each graduate departs the school equipped with the skills required to find great success in their post-secondary studies, their careers and their lives. The GNS difference is our people. The relationships forged between students and teachers who know them and care about them as individuals set us apart and make our great school truly exceptional.
When you join Glenlyon Norfolk School, you are investing in your child’s future, allowing them to realize their potential and create positive differences in the world. In order to ensure our school remains accessible to all students, GNS has created a number of scholarships and financial assistance opportunities. Every year the school awards more than $1,000,000 in support to 15% of GNS families that have qualified through a third-party provider (Apple Financial Services).
Financial Support Options
Needs-based financial support is available for eligible students and is awarded based on each family’s unique circumstances. Awards may cover up to 40% of a student’s tuition. Please note that at this time bursaries are only available to domestic day students.
The application for financial support is separate from the application for admission. Both must be submitted at the time of application in order to be considered for financial support. Candidates wishing to apply for financial support must complete and submit the Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) application form available via the Apple Financial Services website.
Scholarship Opportunities
Every year GNS recognizes students who have achieved significant academic progress through a variety of performance-based scholarships. New domestic students are eligible for two types of awards:
Entrance Scholarships are one-time awards of up to $5,000 and are available to qualifying domestic students entering Grades 6 to 12 based on a variety of criteria.
Community Scholarships, introduced in 2015, are renewable awards of up to $10,000 for new domestic students entering Grades 8 to 12. Community Scholars carry their awards through their entire career at GNS, provided that they meet or exceed the school’s expectations in terms of their contribution to our school community
At GNS, we seek students with strong academic potential, good character and diverse backgrounds from families who share the values of the school. Our goal is to provide resources and opportunities that will ensure our students’ success, and create an environment that encourages respect for the self and others.
Our Financial Assistance Program is designed with these principles in mind. Providing opportunities for students of all backgrounds allows our school community to reflect the real world while also fostering academic excellence.
