The Country Day School

Our structure is that your tuition fee pays for core programs, salaries, facilities, and administrative expenses. On average, families can expect to pay approximately $1,000 to $3,000 in additional expenses per child above and beyond tuition each year. The actual cost per child will vary depending on the child's grade and participation in activities, programs and excursions.

What's Involved?

To apply for a bursary, families are required to complete a Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) application through Apple Financial Services, an independent third party. The family must provide, in confidence, information on family assets, liabilities, income, expenses and other relevant financial information. Apple Financial will review the information and make a recommendation to the School. The School’s Financial Assistance Committee reviews the recommendation and determines the amount of bursary. Families must apply for a bursary on an annual basis in order to demonstrate continued financial need. In order for a bursary to be renewed, the student must contribute as an active and positive member of the school community.

Unfortunately, not all requests for assistance can be accommodated and recommendations by Apple Financial are not a guarantee of a bursary. A family must be prepared to invest in their child’s education to a significant level. Returning families who are applying for financial assistance for the first time are asked to contact Kate Lloyd, Student Accounts Administrator, at 905.833.1220 ext. 288 prior to the deadline. Process to Apply for Financial Assistance

The complete process to apply for financial assistance is as follows:

• Click to find the online FACS Application Form. To download the FACS Application Instructions, look in the 'Downloads' channel located on the right hand side of this page.
• Complete the online FACS application and pay the fee of $120.00 to Apple Financial by Friday, January 17.
• Apple Financial analyzes the information on a completely confidential basis and recommends a bursary amount to the School.
• The decision to award financial aid is made by the School's Financial Assistance Committee. The amount will be based on the FACS recommendation, plus any other relevant factors. You will be informed of the decision, by letter, by Friday, February 28.

We understand that while the benefits are exceptional, it is a significant financial investment to join our community. As result, and thanks to the generosity of our donors, funds are available to help make a CDS experience a reality for families who may need some financial assistance. It should be noted that applicants for financial aid must go through the normal admission process and meet all requirements to be offered admission. Space is subject to availability.
