Financial Aid & Discounts

Nearly 40% of our student body receives some kind of financial aid. Stuart Hall School offers financial aid awards in the form of grants that do not need to be repaid. Our budget, therefore, is limited, and we seek to equitably distribute grants to students based on need. Awards are made on a first-come, first- served basis, so timely application is important.

Because of our commitment to higher education, we offer tuition discounts to employees of Blue Ridge Community College, Bridgewater College, James Madison University, Mary Baldwin College, and Washington & Lee University.

Stuart Hall School accepts students based on their qualifications without regard to their families' financial situation. Families are encouraged to apply for financial aid if there is a demonstrated need.

Affording Our Education

At Stuart Hall School, we are proud to offer a rigorous college preparatory education for boys and girls from Pre-K through 12th grade. We recognize, however, that independent school education is a major investment. We have several available opportunities to help your family meet the cost of our education.

The Financial Aid Process

Families applying for aid must:

  • Complete the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) online through the School and FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment here.
  • Provide a copy of their most recent IRS Federal tax return (form 1040 for United States citizens) to the School
For international families, provide proof of annual income and/or tax records, if available.
  • Notify the admission office when your online form is complete to be sure we have received your materials.

Assuming your family qualifies for Financial Aid, and your student has been accepted to Stuart Hall School, your Financial Aid award will be sent or emailed to you as soon as possible after your admission decision.
