  • Once the student had paid their registration fee of Rs. 10,000/- they are supposed to pay 50% of the semester fee before the orientation day.
  • The balance 50% payment should be done before the given deadline after the commencement of the semester.
  • A student could pay their balance 50% payment in 3 options
  • 1st option – Full payment (50%) paid on or before the given date
  • 2nd option – In this option a student could pay the balance 50% payment in 2 installments. (There will be an additional payment of Rs. 1000/- per unit for choosing this option)
  • 3rd option – In this option a student could pay the balance 50% payment in 3 installments. (There will be an additional payment of Rs.2000/- per unit for selecting this option).
  • Any payments not made by the due date will incur a late payment penalty of LKR 6,500/-

  • If a student fails a unit in a particular semester that unit can be repeated in the following semester, and is required to pay the full unit fee.
  • No refunds are given after the closing dates of the semester. If a student wish to withdraw from a semester. Please inform the student records department/Student counsellor before the closing date.

General Conditions

  • Local and international students are required to attend all classes and maintain 90% attendance in which they are timetabled and undertake all tests and examinations during a course and abide by all rules and regulations of the Institute that are in force at any time.
  • ACBT may by written notice vary conditions of enrolment as may be necessary to comply with any law, regulation or amendment thereof, of Sri Lanka.
  • In the event of circumstances requiring urgent medical care where it is not possible to contact the parent/guardian, ACBT is authorised as a matter of urgency to seek and provide appropriate medical care.

International Students

  • International students must complete their course within the period specified on their Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and are not permitted to study part-time.
  • Student visas are usually issued for the duration of the course. Information on student visa application or renewal is available at http://www.immigration.gov.lk/
  • ACBT is obliged to report to the Sri Lankan Government any student who is not making satisfactory progress in their studies.
  • Student visa conditions require a student to notify their education provider of any change to their residential address in Sri Lanka within 7 days.
  • It is a visa requirement that International students pay and maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) while studying in Sri Lanka.
  • You should acquaint yourself with full Sri Lankan student visa conditions at http://www.immigration.gov.lk/ Before accepting your offer at ACBT.
  • International students must meet the minimum English language proficiency requirement for entry into the course. The student will be required to enroll in the Mixed Program in the first semester of study prior to the commencement of studies at the discretion of ACBT.

Deferment to Commencement of Studies

Students must formally advise ACBT if they are unable to commence their studies until a subsequent semester. ACBT will hold the fees paid until commencement without levying a penalty. If the student subsequently withdraws, the Refund Policy will apply as at the date ACBT was advised in writing of the withdrawal. For international students, a deferment to commencement of studies can only be granted in compassionate or compelling circumstances, that is, circumstances beyond the control of the student and which have an impact upon the student’s course progress or wellbeing.

Leave of Absence

Students who apply for a leave of absence from their course after enrolment and within the first four weeks of course commencement, ACBT will transfer fees paid to the next semester. If the student subsequently withdraws, the Refund Policy applies from the date ACBT received advice in writing regarding the leave of absence. If the student applies for a leave of absence from the fifth week of the semester, their place will be held, but all tuition fees applicable to that semester will be forfeited.

ACBT has now opened a collection account at Sampath Bank for the convenience of all the students. All Student payments should be through Sampath Bank Student Deposit slips, which are available at any Sampath Bank Branch, ACBT reception, marketing and accounts departments.

Other Charges

Overseas Student Health Cover annual premium fee of US$250.00* International students are required to take out Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their stay in Sri Lanka.

Living Costs

The cost of living depends on the students' individual lifestyles. ACBT estimates that a single International student requires US$ 8,000 - US$ 11,000 per year to live.

The cost would normally cover:

  • Accommodation
  • Transport
  • Entertainment
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Textbooks

It does not cover airfares or additional costs associated with an expensive lifestyle.

Refund Calculation

If a student withdraws before the commencement of the study period Full payment made for the study period will be refunded
If a student withdraws within the first two weeks after the commencement of the study period Payment made for the study period will be refunded minus a Rs 10,000 administration fee
If a student withdraws between weeks 3-4 after the commencement of the study period Payment made for the study period will be refunded minus a Rs 15,000 administration fee
If a students withdraws after week 4 of the commencement of the study period No refund of fees

Refund Policy for Excess Fees Paid

Course Fees will be refunded in Full Less an administrative Charge Depending on the value of the refund.

Students must produce the following documents in order to process a refund to the Finance Department.

  • Letter of Request for the refund.
  • Original copy of the payment receipts given by ACBT.
  • Copy of the Subject withdrawal form approved by the Director of Academic Affairs.
  • Excess money will only be refunded if the student is not going to continue his/her studies with ACBT or upon graduation from the Final year of study.
  • If it is a complete withdrawal letter to the fact needs to be produced.
  • All refunds will take a maximum of two weeks to process.

Note:

If there are withdrawals from semester studies there will be no refund of fees after Week 4. Any refund request made between Week 1 and Week 4 will be fully transferred to future semesters.
