At Linbrook, we proudly offer a diverse program that allows students to explore their interests and discover their own special talents. In addition to providing a challenging academic curriculum, we also emphasize athletics, visual arts, music, leadership, public speaking and outdoor education. The research is clear; create a culture that celebrates and understands boys and the positive outcomes are endless. Boys enjoy and thrive on engaging and positive relationships, meaningful and exciting academic lessons, the opportunity for movement, to be part of a team, and to wake up each morning eager and energized by the upcoming school day. Further to the research, however, is the intangible quality an all boys’ school can possess to make a boy feel cared for and challenged to reach his full potential.

Our program at Linbrook School is designed to address boys’ need for movement and their natural tendency to learn effectively through humour and competition. As a result, the curriculum is customized to adapt to boys’ learning styles, and our teaching methods are designed to engage and inspire every student. For example, boys like choice in their learning; teachers may ask the class to reflect on a novel by writing an essay, creating a PowerPoint presentation or designing an informative poster. Linbrook also offers the opportunity for boys to try new things. In the absence of girls, boys are generally willing to take greater risks, including activities like dancing, singing, knitting, Zumba, cooking and acting.

You can feel a positive energy on campus. Boys are eagerly participating in the classroom. They are using technology to film and edit video, learn math, and create presentations. At recess, boys are playing sports, engaging in a game of chess and building Lego. You can hear music in the halls; boys are singing and playing instruments. There is colourful art on the walls that would make any parent proud.

Linbrook School is Oakville’s only independent day school for boys. Our diverse program applies teaching methods in an environment that embraces boys’ energy and individual learning styles. The heart of our approach in academics is engaging boys through movement, embracing their natural competitiveness, and providing a nurturing, positive environment for learning. We offer hands-on activities, diverse workspaces and state-of-the-art technology in small classes.

We recognize that every boy has his own special skills, whether it is as an athlete, musician, scientist, writer, performer or artist. This is why we offer a rich student life for Linbrook boys. They have the chance to be part of competitive sports teams, a dynamic intramurals program, diverse musical ensembles, leadership opportunities, a variety of extra-curricular clubs and programs, as well as whole school concerts, weekly assemblies and special event days. Linbrook teachers and several of our community partners regularly and enthusiastically provide these opportunities for our boys. We believe kindling spirits is as important as inspiring minds. All of our boys will have opportunities to shine at Linbrook.
