Welcome to Lincoln College. Since 1865, when Lincoln University was founded, we have been guided by a clear vision: to uniquely empower students to realize their full potential.
With the enthusiastic support of the Board of Trustees, over the next few years we will return to our roots by expanding our four-year degree programs. We will remain a hybrid school, continuing to give students the option of choosing a program that is right for them; a two-year degree program or four-year degree program. For more than 150 years we have educated students to not only be successful but to become leaders in today’s society.
Lincoln College has always been more than just an institution, it is a family. We look forward to welcoming you into the Lincoln College Lynx family as you Experience Outstanding.
Lincoln College uniquely empowers students to realize their full potential.
Our Vision is “To be a recognized leader in transforming students’ lives.”

Every Lincoln College student is assigned an advisor whose primary goal is assisting students to realize their maximum potential, and helping students determine and attain their educational and career objectives. The professional advisor helps orient students to college work, assists them with registration and scheduling of classes, monitors their academic progress, and refers them to faculty members and student services staff for necessary help. These tasks require that student files be maintained and that advisor/student appointments be routinely scheduled. The professional advisor must also be thoroughly familiar with the educational programs and academic requirements of the institution.
Our mission is to provide complete services and programs that will empower students and link them with the resources they need to achieve both academic and personal goals. The ASC is available to all Lincoln College students free of charge.
Academic assistance is available for all subject areas including walk-in hours for math and writing, study groups as well as private, one-on-one appointments.
The Office of Career Services strives to empower students and alumni with the appropriate skills and resources to navigate the career exploration and job search processes.
Counseling services are available to all Lincoln College students. We offer assistance to students who are experiencing normal developmental challenges, as well as students who are challenged by the process of transition from high school to Lincoln College. Our professionally trained counselors want to talk with you about concerns with homesickness, difficulty adjusting to new situations, relationship challenges, depression and more. The counseling center also provides preventive programs designed to increase awareness and skills for managing your daily life and school effectively and successfully.
Lincoln College considers all aspects of a student’s qualifications and offers admission to all students in order to build a talented, diverse and interesting entering freshmen class.

Lincoln College, chartered Lincoln University in 1865, is a private, liberal arts college, fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The College’s roots date back to December 1864. After investigating several sites, commissioners selected Lincoln, Illinois as the location for a new university.
On February 6, 1865, a charter for the new university was secured from the Illinois General Assembly. Just six days later, on Abraham Lincoln’s last living birthday, ground was broken for University Hall, the first college building. The foundation was completed and the cornerstone laid by September 1865, and instruction for men and women began that November. The first commencement in 1868 honored three graduates.
