Little Dalton Kindergarten - West Kowloon

Little Dalton is a private independent kindergarten with a diverse student body which provides child-centered education for families in Hong Kong. Our founding board members identified the need in Hong Kong for a progressive approach to learning which embodied traditional values and incorporated real world inquiry-based learning. Based on this and the belief that children should be respected and trusted to lead their learning and follow their passions, the Hong Kong Dalton community was founded in 2013. Little Dalton is joined in the Dalton community by miniDalton, a playgroup for preschool learners from 1 to 2 years old and Dalton School Hong Kong, our primary school from Reception to Grade 6.

The first Little Dalton campus opened in Pok Fu Lam in Hong Kong in 2013. Little Dalton opened their second campus in 2017, along with miniDalton and Dalton School Hong Kong in the current West Kowloon location. Over the years we have served students and families across Hong Kong. In 2021, our spacious West Kowloon campus merged with the Pok Fu Lam campus to house all our Little Dalton students.

Since our school’s inception, our community has grown significantly and Little Dalton is now home to a large, diverse student body of half-day and full-day classes ranging from Pre K to K2. Our dynamic team continues to be committed to facilitating child-centered education and providing learners access to a Dual Language system where every student is positioned to develop and thrive in all areas of development.

Little Dalton is a progressive, bilingual kindergarten guided by The Dalton Plan. The Dalton Plan is one of the most successful child-centred educational models in the world, focusing on nurturing children through giving them appropriate freedom, responsibility, and opportunities for cooperation. Our graduates are expected to have a balanced bilingual fluency in Putonghua and English. Our curriculum is specially designed and delivered by experts to combine rigour and creativity. We are especially indebted to advisors from The Dalton School in New York (the original Dalton school) and Ascham School in Sydney for their guidance and support.

Little Dalton offers pre-K and K1 and K2. We emphasise bilingual language development, creativity, physical and sensory stimulation especially as related to brain development, and social, personal, and learning skills. Elements of the Dalton Plan will gradually be introduced, although the spirit of Dalton is evident throughout the school.

Little Dalton is committed to providing our graduates with a world class, all-round education. Dalton graduates are inquisitive, self-confident, responsible, social, and independent little learners and thinkers. They are well-equipped for a transition to the primary years either at Dalton School Hong Kong or any leading schools around the world.
