We are a very busy but friendly primary school, striving to achieve only the best possible outcomes for all of our children. Mab Lane Primary School has a warm and friendly atmosphere with staff who aim to provide excellent, high quality teaching and learning. The school is proud to have achieved several awards, most recently gaining the Liverpool Counts Quality Mark- Gold standard.
We recognise the importance of fun and adventure and so our whole school community have created a list of 50 ultimate activities to have a go at before you leave our school for example walking bare foot in the sand, watching the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, going to the Theatre etc. We believe that our children are capable of achieving the highest standards possible in all they do. We encourage and promote the children to be the best they can be academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally. This is why our school motto is… ‘Only the Best’.
Our school values have been chosen with the help of the pupils at Mab Lane and their parents/carers. The children and their families chose five values that they felt underpinned the ethos of our school. Out of the twenty different collected the school council chose the final five. To go alongside our other values, it was important to have another value linking to our curriculum and school work. Perseverance was chosen by all staff to encourage the children not to give up on something they may find difficult, and through perseverance the children can achieve 'Only The Best'.
In order to provide a centre of excellence, we believe that everyone in our community is of equal value. In pursuit of this excellence our school aims to:
Mab Lane Primary School caters for children from the age of two to eleven years. Your child can begin in our Little Rainbows after their second birthday or the Nursery after reaching his or her third birthday and attend on a half day basis. We also offer 30 hour provision for any children who are eligible. You can apply for a place in our reception class in January online for September of the school year in which they reach their fifth birthday.
We believe in encouraging every parent to be involved in supporting their child in their school experience. Partnership between parents and the school is an important ingredient towards our success. Parents are welcome to become involved in school and courses held throughout the year help develop personal skills and provide support for their own child’s learning at home.
We arrange open evenings each term. Parents who are thinking of sending their children to the school are always welcome to visit. This is an opportunity to talk to the Headteacher and staff and tour the building.
