Maclay is a place to grow and be challenged; to develop character, compassion, respect, and honor. As a Maclay student, you will not only become a strong learning, but also a purposeful citizen. Our next generation must learn on its feet, be comfortable with rapid change, embrace uncertainty, and have the confidence to solve problems and lead others. We aim to provide students with the tools and skills for an ever changing future. We start with the student who is supported by well-trained faculty. We educate our students in both academics and leadership to support the higher purpose of Maclay School: to build learners who lead and leaders who are willing to learn.
Maclay School is an independent, non-sectarian college preparatory school dedicated to providing a liberal arts education and enabling each student to develop their inherent ability to the fullest extent with a balance of discipline and freedom.
Our Philosophy Statement: The philosophy has been in existence since the beginning of the school in 1968. Maclay School supports its students in fulfilling their potential academically, emotionally, physically, and artistically. Its purpose is:
Maclay School is committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all areas of school life. As a school with 3-year-olds up to 18-year-olds, we feel a unique responsibility to continually grow and teach the best way to prepare our students for the world they will one day lead. Maclay School facilitates these conversations through curricular studies, assemblies, small group work, formal, and informal lessons, but we know that we can do more. We have embarked on a journey to deepen the conversations and our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion at Maclay School.
The Board of Trustees has appointed a DEI Task Force which includes Board members, the Head of School and each of the Division Directors. The process is underway to identify and engage a consultant with expertise in DEI development in independent schools who will lead the Board and the school through the appropriate process in the next few months. We will continue to update the Maclay community on the progress.
Several faculty members have recently attended professional development sessions such as Students with Disabilities: Exceptional Student Education for All Educators, How to Talk to Kids About Race, International Literacy Association: How to Raise and Teach Anti-Racist Kids, Teach Your Heart Out Virtual Teacher Town Hall: A Conversation on Social Justice, and Understanding Equity and Inequity presented by the Equity Literacy Institute. We are excited to have these faculty members bring this training to our broader faculty community.
We are all committed to a better Maclay. We are mapping out and moving forward a process to strengthen diversity, equity and inclusion at Maclay School in a thoughtful, collaborative, and sustainable way.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
My child has flourished at Maclay School in Florida. The American curriculum has provided a solid foundation for their education. The teachers have been incredibly helpful and supportive, and my child has made great progress academically.
