Job Summary

You will act as a core member of the library management team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Reading Room and the collaborative planning and implementation of next-generation library services, managing the information services team members, providing guidance on work distribution and processes, establishing and monitoring team best practices and assessment measures to ensure service quality. Being a supervisor, you will be conducting appraisals, mentoring, training and, building and sustaining a manager team-oriented approach.

Managing core team activities such as outreach and liaison activities across the university with other stakeholders. Providing research consultations, teaching, and systematic reviews, participating where required, managing the process of identifying and coordinating Training & Professional Development activities.

Working with the Director and other Library managers to create and revise policies and procedures as appropriate, participating in long-term departmental planning, and development of reports.

Who you are and what “Excellence” looks like in this role…

A results-driven Leader, with demonstrated team and department services development. You hold a master’s from an ALA-accredited Library Science Program or International Equivalent. You have prior experience in Library Information Services, with at least three years previous supervisory or management experience, preferably having experience in health services Library or health-related field. You must have prior experience teaching information literacy, evidence-based practice or similar content, familiarity with systematic reviews, critical pathways, or guideline development and data management practices and strategies, and preferably some familiarity with health literacy, trends in medical education, scientific publishing or similar.

A Creative thinker, Problem-solver, comfortable working in a high-dynamic environment, with a preference of having prior Change Management experience.
