Marrara Christian School

Marrara Christian College, which covers the Early Learning Centre to Year 9, together with NT Christian College, accommodating Year 10 to 12, are non- denominational Christian schools. This is a place where young people are loved, valued, disciplined, encouraged and nurtured throughout every stage of their education at the College. This is achieved through the provision of a challenging, broad-based Christian curriculum, delivered by dedicated teachers, working in close partnership with students and their families.

Our Mission Marrara Christian College seeks to be a learning community where parents and staff partner together, and where students are nurtured through a loving, biblically based school curriculum to build their faith, character and desire to serve.

The Primary School at Marrara is a vibrant, Christ centred, community of learning. We work together applying our four values:Right Choices, Service, Compassion and Dedication. We call these four values the RiSe CoDe. Students consistently hear and apply the RiSe CoDe to their school experience. We value and care deeply for every child in our school. Each child is uniquely created by God with great value and for His purpose. We endeavor to meet the needs of every student academically, spiritually, socially and physically, as we nurture the ‘Whole Child’.

The learning environment is orderly and conducive to maximising learning. Teachers actively work from a positive behaviour approach which focuses on the correct behaviours as well as affirming and encouraging the students to “give it a go” and try their best.

Each day, students share in devotions to develop their understanding and faith in God and spend intentional time developing their understanding of the world we live in. Literacy and Numeracy skills are integral and each class caters for the varying needs, styles and levels of our students. The standards-based curriculum follows the Australian Curriculum and the Northern Territory Curriculum Framework. The application of the curriculum is taught through the perspective of a Biblical World View.

Marrara Middle School is a place where each student is encouraged to develop an appreciation and development of their God-given gifts and a love of service for Christ, the church and the community.

Classroom practice and Curriculum development is engineered and executed in a way to ensure worthwhile outcomes academically through age appropriate educational strategies and practices. Teachers are innovative and collegial in their approach and new ways of teaching and learning are explored and encouraged. Our teachers care about your child, are available to listen and provide fine role models.

The spiritual, emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of our students is paramount and teachers, support staff and administration staff are trained and equipped to maintain a healthy environment to which students come each day through recognition of the lordship of Christ and the integrity of the bible.

Marrara Senior School is a campus of the NT Christian College. NT Christian College is the Senior Years Education provider for NT Christian Schools. It has operated for the last 30 years providing high quality Christian education in a positive and community-focused environment.

Our aim is to provide Christian education that empowers students to fulfil their calling. This is achieved through teaching that is deeply embedded with Biblical perspectives and clear understandings of the curriculum and best practices in pedagogy.

We focus on having flexible pathways that allow students to discover the joy of learning and to walk the path that God has for them. These pathways incorporate academic learning, cultural and community activities, as well as Vocational Education and Training opportunities. Each student has the ability to tailor their learning to their needs.
