Midstate College

Midstate College is an important part of Peoria, Illinois’ history. Since 1888, Midstate College has provided an important link between the educational pursuits of individuals and their careers. As a comfortable place for students of all ages and backgrounds to pursue education, Midstate College has served the varied needs that this broad population demands. The ease of interaction between faculty, staff and students has made the College responsive in a way that is unmatched by any other institution in Central Illinois.

Up-to-date information is taught through modern methods and technology—both in the classroom and online in virtual classrooms. The faculty and staff are easy to contact whenever needed. Students enjoy conversation and study whether in the library or working on group assignments for online courses. Individual skills and growth are combined with group assignments and team efforts to develop a graduate that can succeed in any employment setting.

Students come from the surrounding metropolitan area, all of Illinois, and other states. There are many transfer students who have completed one to four years of college as well as an increasing number of adults continuing their education. We are proud of our ambitious and talented students. While most are preparing themselves for immediate employment or job advancement, others are continuing their education in newly defined areas. Midstate College graduates have established an excellent record with employers for 130 years.

The experience of attending school at Midstate College is different from other institutions. Since 1888 Midstate College in Peoria, Illinois has been a leader in professional training and education. Over time, Midstate College has developed a comprehensive understanding of business knowledge, specialized career skills, and technological advances to offer the perfect solution for individuals wanting to advance in their careers or embark into new areas of employment.

The caring faculty and individualized attention students receive at Midstate College is unparalleled by other institutions. The supportive atmosphere allows learning to take place in a comfortable environment that meets the needs of all students. Small classes are offered day, night, and online to provide access to students with complex schedules. Our students are often surprised at how learning at Midstate College is such a positive and enjoyable experience.

New students will schedule classes with an admissions representative; current students will contact the director of their department or academic advisor to schedule for subsequent terms. Each program director is available to counsel students regarding their academic progress. Registration begins in Week 5 of each term. After the term begins, students may drop and add classes until the end of Week 1. Students can purchase textbooks beginning in Week 11. Full-time enrollment is 12 to 19 credit hours per term. Part-time enrollment is less than 12 credit hours.

The Career Services Center provides students and graduates with information about part-time and full-time employment opportunities. The Midstate College Career Services Center also provides résumé writing assistance, interview preparation, career counseling, employment-related correspondence, employment referral processing, and employment-search skills.

Employment counseling is geared toward developing highly marketable individuals capable of securing degree-related positions. Midstate graduates are offered free placement assistance. Although the College does not guarantee job placement, every endeavor is made to partner with the student/graduate to achieve the best possible result. Midstate College is recognized as a leader by community, industry, and other training institutions for quality education, quality placement strategy, and quality employment standards.

American Medical Academy, Inc. (AMA) and Midstate College, Inc. have established an exclusive strategic partnership in July 2018 for mutually beneficial business interests. AMA is an international education, training and healthcare services provider. AMA is Midstate College’s exclusive strategic and business partner for the purpose of bringing international students to Midstate College. AMA has the full authorization to promote, market and recruit qualified international students, worldwide, for all of our current and future master, bachelor and associate degree programs; as well as our Diploma programs, general education courses, continuing education programs, and short term training.
