We are extremely proud of our school and firmly believe in our ethos 'educating the whole child'. Throughout the school, you can feel the buzz of excitement in the air and the love of learning is palpable. Formally Mottingham Primary School, we are now known as Ravensworth Primary School, which was our original school name when we first opened in the 1930s.
At Ravensworth Primary, we have created a warm and nurturing school, providing children with a stimulating and inspiring learning environment, whilst developing confidence and taking pride in our achievements. By cultivating positive partnerships between children, teachers and parents, our school community is committed to promoting passionate teaching, high standards and successful learning.
We value each child as an individual, meeting their needs and helping them to develop their unique abilities and ambitions. Through creative and motivating lessons, we strive to engage our children's natural sense of curiosity and encourage lifelong learning. With our enriching curriculum, dedicated teachers and a strong belief that learning should always be fun, we ensure that children feel part of the Ravensworth family.
Experiences and opportunities are important to us and we excel in delivering adventures that feed directly into our learning. These rich and vibrant opportunities develop skills, knowledge and draw upon meaningful real-life experiences.
Leaders, Governors and staff make sure that safeguarding is 'the golden thread' that runs through all aspects of school life. To support our mission we have a set of shared (core) values for all members of our community to embrace. The school's nine values, such a integrity, kindness and acceptance, provide a strong foundation for our curriculum.
Visions & Values
Ravensworth Primary School is a warm and nurturing school, centred on our vision to ‘educate the whole child’. Our values provide a strong foundation for all pupils and are the golden thread running through our ethos and provision. These values play an important role in helping pupils to feel happy, safe and secure. They feed into the full spectrum of life in our school and form a solid base on which to build and develop each individual, supporting them to become successful learners and responsible citizens.
The values are displayed throughout the school, in classrooms and on the playground. They play a key role in assemblies, the PSHE curriculum, the SMSC curriculum and British Values.
Our Big Values are our overarching values as a school and organisation within the community. They complement our existing core values and apply to everyone associated with our school including children, parents, staff, governors and visitors. You might notice the huge signs displayed at the entrance of the school.
