National Private School

National private school was established in 1982. It is recognized as one of the first private schools in Oman . It began only with kindergarten and grades one and two.

Year after year, it became greater in the size, quantity and scope of education. In 1997/1998 the first batch of General Secondary Certificate of general education graduated . The school adapts the three systems of education that include general education , bilingual and IGCSE courses .

Our school seeks to mingle the Omani Arab culture with the most up-to-date method of education and technology . It always places a great emphasis on students’ personalities so that they can play vital roles in building their country . In addition an excellent group of experienced teachers from different countries who spare no effort to provide students with all opportunities of learning new skills which help them in increasing their academic level, therefore they can join local and International Universities.

We are proud to say that our school has had a strong tradition of promoting excellent education and supporting the growth of the whole person. This was achieved through the hard work of our outstanding students, dedicated administrators and educators and engaged parents. Yet, we cannot rest on our laurel; we always strive to continuous focus of meeting the needs of our diverse student population.

One of the many facets of NPS School is our commitment to integrating the values into learning because we believe that developing a basic set of values has always been cornerstone of student’s education. The major challenge about the value in education is that our world changes rapidly and our students live in a fully globalized context in which more people than ever are connected via web. The values that were taught by bygone generation are today more applicable in many new ways. Good citizenship can now be equally applied to good digital citizenship, not only by being a safe internet user but also by being responsible and having respect to oneself and others.

We are striving to create a safe, welcoming and challenging environment that is built on positive relationships; developing the whole student- emotionally, socially and academically. We appreciate each of our students as the unique individuals that they are each with distinct interests, needs, talents, and learning styles.

Today need to turn philosophy into developing our student as effective citizens and workers in the 21st century. The school now looks to the future in a 21st century approach to learning that gives emphasis on higher order learning and thinking as we move away from the traditional rote learning model. In doing so, a focus is given on meta-cognitive skills, problem-solving and the development of the whole person.

We believe that together we form strong partnership and we can equally make valuable contribution to our students’ outstanding educational experiences. Together we can encourage our kids to appreciate our unique Omani identity and heritage, develop a concern for other as a global citizen, and show an active respect for the environment.
