Welcome to Co-op Academy New Islington! A short walk from the city centre, Co-op Academy New Islington is in a vibrant and exciting location next to wetlands and the Cotton Fields Marina. With ten years of headship under my belt, five of those years being here at New Islington, our team has developed a school that is a warm, encouraging and supportive place for children. We joined the Co-op Academies Trust in July 2022. The shared values between our school and the Trust meant that the partnership was perfect. At Co-op Academy New Islington, we encourage our pupils to approach all challenges and opportunities presented to them with confidence and resilience. Staff and pupils work together towards a common goal of high achievement for all, through a culture in which tolerance, openness and fairness is encouraged.

We set high expectations for our pupils’ educational outcomes and have high standards of behaviour. All within an exciting and engaging curriculum, taught by motivated and happy staff. Our pupils are eager and enthusiastic about:

We have an amazing team of adults who work closely with the children and parents. They ensure that each and every child has a first-class educational experience. Adults and children join together to find things out, discover talents and enjoy new experiences. We help each other to find new friends and to develop new enthusiasm.

We do this through well-planned, stimulating lessons. Learning at New Islington takes place both inside and outside the classroom, as we know that children benefit from a wide range of experiences, such as Forest School, trips and visits. We do this by being there for the children, listening to them, and taking the time to really get to know them in a caring environment.
