Our aim is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where children feel safe and secure, enabling them to enjoy their learning every day and strive to reach their full potential. We are fortunate to have a spacious, stimulating school site that offers plenty of scope for extra-curricular activities and a range of opportunities.
We believe that the school has a vital role to play in the local community, and we value the relationships between children, staff, parents. These relationships are built on trust and good will, and are a key ingredient to the school’s inclusive approach. Through our developing curriculum, and with a growing emphasis on children’s Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural awareness (SMSC), we aim to prepare children for the challenges of a rapidly changing, diverse world, developing not only academic intelligence, but also the emotional and social skills that will enable them to lead successful, happy lives. Developing personal qualities such as resilience, tolerance and awareness of local, national and world events are important aspects of this as we prepare the children for life in 21st century Britain.
Everyone has a sense of belonging to the whole school and wider community. Children are happy, healthy and confident learners. Learning in a safe environment is both enjoyable and challenging. Behaving well and showing respect are expected and valued by everyone in the school community. Children are able to work hard both independently and with others to achieve. A broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum is inclusive to all learners. Children learn about, and appreciate topics relating to their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development.

We aim to offer every child a broad and balanced curriculum - suited to their needs - that is vibrant, engaging and ultimately useful to their future lives. We want to provide academic success coupled with enrichment opportunities that allow each child to explore a range of skills and interests. In addition to core skills such as English and Maths, we promote deep learning within science, the humanities, technology, citizenship and the arts, developing creative, enquiring minds.
Our curriculum offers children the chance to develop healthy bodies and healthy minds. We provide a wide range of high quality physical education opportunities during and after school, and we have a strong commitment to developing good mental health through activities such as massage and 'Philosophy for Children' (P4C).
We want our curriculum to unlock doors, enabling children to feel confident and optimistic about their futures in whatever direction they choose to take. Our curriculum needs to be relevant to the children's local and national context: we want our children to understand their options in life, contribute to society as responsible citizens and show and understanding of equality and diversity.
