It is our goal to be recognised as Singapore’s premier preschool brand. We seek to achieve this through our qualified and caring educators and strong curriculum aimed at preparing children for school and beyond.

Through our specialised preschool programme we aim to encourage each child’s development in the following areas:

  • Curiosity and interest in the world they live in
  • Capabilities in reading, writing, understanding mathematical and scientific concepts
  • Confidence in communicating and relating to peers and adults
  • Care and compassion for people, society and the environment around them.
  • Creativity in thinking, problem solving and artistic expression.

Above all, it is our responsibility to ensure that their precious preschool years with us are filled with happy experiences and memories.

At Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse, we understand the importance of high quality early childhood development and care.

Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse is a high quality preschool established since year 2003. Our Centres have been designed with a strong focus on “Our Juniors.”

This is a Schoolhouse founded for our juniors. This is where our juniors feel they belong. This is a Schoolhouse that belongs to our juniors. Since its inception, Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse has benefited pre-schoolers with high quality English-Mandarin bilingual programmes and the finest childcare services. Its holistic approach to learning and development has helped prepare our children physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and artistically both for school and for life.

Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse preschool curriculum caters to children between 18 and 30 months old. Children at this tender age are hugely curious to explore the world around them and would even try mastering skills on their own. Their days are filled with opportunities to explore a variety of activities that encourage them to move, touch, feel, taste and listen. Even mathematics and early language are introduced hands-on.

We believe that very young children learn best through interactive engagement of their senses. For example, children learn to use their imagination through pretend play & dramatisation when attempting to represent objects, people and ideas. They develop logical thinking skills when engaged in block building, water or sand play. While counting and stacking blocks, our children experiment with cause and effect, develop problem solving skills, and learn how to count and sort things.

As children share materials and play together in class they learn to cooperate, listen to others, stand up for their own ideas, handle frustrations and empathise. Reading stories sparks children’s imagination, stimulates curiosity and helps with brain development. Songs, rhymes and prose help children understand different language patterns. Cookery lessons help children hone math skills when counting and measuring ingredients. By following the methods of a recipe, our children learn to sequence by deciphering which ingredient goes in first, second, third and last. Reading recipes also promotes language skills and expands vocabulary.

When given freedom to choose activities to engage in, children enjoy learning what truly interests them. We see them empowered with a sense of autonomy to make choices, which in turn gives them a sense of achievement and competency.

Children 18 months to 3 years old are highly imaginative and live in a world of make-believe. A typical day in Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse is filled with lots of stories, pretend play, songs and rhymes, constructive play, and art & craft. Children begin learning about phonological awareness through the multi-modal approach of Letterland, a unique phonics-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling for 3-8 year olds. A strong bilingual focus also provides an immersive environment for our children to learn both English and Mandarin.

Topical units are ideal for integrating learning across various subjects such as mathematics and language. Our “integrated” approach is supported by both developmental stage research and early childhood education learning psychologies. The focus in Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse is to create an ideal environment in Playgroup and Pre-Nursery where children effectively develop language competencies. Interest in language is often aroused with good children’s literature, followed by relevant activities that reinforce the same theme. continue reading to find out more about how your child can progress from here to Nursery at Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse.

At 4 years old, children are really inquisitive and expressive! Here at Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse, days are packed with vibrant sessions of circle time sharing, post story Q&A, show & tell from home-school projects, and casual chats over meal times that encourage our children to socialise and freely express themselves. All of which lay a good foundation for their upcoming years in Kindergarten!

Music and Art children are keenly aware of sights and sounds around them. The curriculum in Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse is designed to help our children enhance their appreciation of sound, melody and rhythm, and understanding of how colours form and textures come together in works of art. An early introduction to art and music can last a lifetime, reaping for our children numerous benefits ranging from improved creativity to increased self-confidence, besides shoring up happy memories and contributing to their healthy holistic development.

Our Nursery juniors also acquire age appropriate knowledge of geography and social studies through our English Language Arts programme which helps develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. With the help of Letterland, our children approach phonics in a fun and unique way. Our experiential approach to language learning sets the stage for them to explore creative writing at an introductory level. learn how Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse prepares our children for primary school with a purposeful Kindergarten 1 & 2 curriculum.

Five and six year olds are responsible and full of initiative! Activities that promote active independent learning are staples in Our Juniors’ Schoolhouse Kindergarten programme. By the time our juniors are in Kindergarten 2, they are vocal, eager to learn and thrive on challenges. Busy are their days with activities that promote cooperative teamwork, explorative discoveries, and independent thinking – all acquired in fun and energetic ways!

Our Juniors’ curriculum is purposefully designed to ensure our children enter primary school capable, confident, and eager to take on new challenges. We utilise the best and most updated educational research, tools, and time-tested methods to effectively prepare them for the primary years. Aligned with the Ministry of Education’s mainstream primary school requirements, clearly identified learning outcomes develop in our juniors a strong academic foundation. More importantly, however, we believe in training our kindergarteners socially and emotionally to enjoy new challenges with social interaction and positive resilience. More than mere knowledge accumulation, they are taught to visualise and think discerningly even as they acquire language and numeracy skills, along with a global appreciation of the world through an effective bilingual programme enriched with culturally diverse experiences.
