Founded in 1958 in Atlanta, Ga., Pace Academy is a co-educational, college-preparatory day school serving 1,115 students in grades Pre-First through 12. We strive to create prepared, confident citizens of the world through rigorous academic experiences, innovative global leadership programs, character education and close student-teacher relationships. We start small and THINK BIG.
Our college-placement success and other statistics rank Pace among the nation's finest schools, our athletics and arts programs are second-to-none, and we’re creating innovators in the classroom and around the world. But what truly matters at Pace are the relationships created here—the day-to-day interactions that instill character and change lives.
With 1,115 students in Pre-First through 12th grade and a 9:1 student-teacher ratio, Pace focuses on developing each child’s passions and strengths through academics, athletics and the arts. But we also understand that education today is more complicated than the three As; it’s about providing global perspectives in the classroom and an integrated experience before and after the bell rings.
That’s why we emphasize Judeo-Christian values and why building character is at the heart of everything we do. Pace students, guided by our outstanding faculty and staff, develop a deep understanding of the world and the people around them. Our graduates want to be successful, and they realize that true success means making a positive difference.
Our mission is to create prepared, confident citizens of the world who honor the values and legacy of Pace Academy. Our core values are:
Pace continued to fulfill its mission to create prepared, confident citizens of the world with the launch of the Isdell Center for Global Leadership (ICGL) in 2014. The collaborative, cross-divisional program supports a well-rounded global education for every Pace graduate by exploring an annual, school-wide global theme.
THINK BIG. It’s a familiar and often-used phrase within the Pace community, and it applies first and foremost to our academic experience. It means we strive to create an innovative learning environment through collaboration, challenging curriculum, outstanding teaching and co-curricular offerings. It means we require students to plug in to the world around them, push beyond their comfort zones and accomplish things they never thought possible. It means we inspire young minds to engage.
We start small to make these big things happen by focusing on the individual student, maintaining small class sizes, emphasizing meaningful student-teacher relationships and fostering an inclusive, nurturing community. It’s all about balance. While we set the bar high, we provide students the support they need to reach and exceed expectations so they become engaged learners who take risks, ask questions, think critically and communicate well.
Our faculty is central to Pace’s culture and is the driving force behind our academic program’s success. With freedom to create curriculum and use a variety of pedagogical styles, our teachers help develop world-class, confident learners inside and outside the classroom. Students leave Pace equipped with the skills and confidence to THINK BIG and become leaders in today's 21st-century global community.
At Pace, students develop meaningful relationships with one another and with their teachers, and our parents are actively involved throughout the school. We come together within a safe, supportive environment to form the “Pace family.”
Families choose Pace because of the strength of our academic program. Our students are actively engaged in the learning process from their first day of Pre-First to their final exams senior year. Pace students matriculate to a wide variety of selective colleges and universities, and our graduates tell us that they’re more than prepared when they get there.
Much of the Pace experience takes place outside the classroom. We want our students to lead balanced lives and encourage them to participate in our excellent arts, athletics and extracurricular programs. Through the Isdell Center for Global Leadership, students in all grades develop their interests and passions through a global lens and emerge as successful individuals who want to make a difference in the world.
