At Parkfield, we believe that every child should be given the opportunity to find out what their special talents are and to develop skills which will make them a successful and confident learner. Our amazing staff and pupils can speak 58 different languages between them and we enjoy learning about each other's backgrounds, experiences and traditions.
We believe that at Parkfield we provide a positive, friendly and calm environment which promotes high expectations in a learning culture that values everyone.
We are proud of our achievements and the fantastic behaviour of our pupils. Ofsted judged us as a good school with outstanding early years provision in July 2015. We have nursery classes for two year olds and three year olds with some part time and some full time places for those entitled to free provision and parents who choose to pay. In August 2013 Parkfield became an Academy sponsored by The Elliot Foundation. We have close links with Parkfield Children's Centre which is next door to our school.
Our modern building has lots of beautiful spaces for learning in, both indoors and out of doors. We are especially proud of our fantastic library - we believe all children should love to read. Each year group plans their work around a theme and many of those are inspired by books and stories.
At Parkfield Primary School we believe that all children are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum which is interesting, engaging and provides a range of learning opportunities that help develop their life-long learning.
As we prepare children for life in modern Britain it is central that our curriculum reflects this.We feel that Children must be fully equipped for living in this ever changing society. We continually promote community cohesion by learning about each others' beliefs, faiths and cultures, while understanding the expectations for living in modern Britain.
At Parkfield Primary School we are committed to ensuring that all children are able to fully access the curriculum. We modify and differentiate the curriculum for those children with Special Educational Needs. It is our responsibility to maximise the skills, strengths and talents in all children, enabling them to reach their full potential. Gifted and talented children will be extended to make it challenging and engaging for children who have been identified as being Gifted and Talented.
At Parkfield we are committed to ensure that every child achieves the best possible outcomes regardless of their ethnicity, gender, cultural background or learning need. Our practices and procedures are embedded into school life to ensure pupils’ special educational needs are identified quickly. We consider each of the pupils when planning and provide a curriculum which is accessible to all, whatever their individual needs. We acknowledge that some pupils require additional support to ensure access to a full curriculum and, where appropriate, a range of support strategies, including personalised curriculums, are implemented.
