Partium Christian University

The Partium Christian University is a continuation of the centuries-long traditions of Transylvanian Hungarian higher education, the first autonomous, accredited university created by the Hungarians of Romania after the 1989 changes.

The Partium Christian University, accredited in 2008, confesses and continues to pursue its predecessor, the good traditions of the Sulyok István Reformed College established in 1990 by the Reformed Church District of Királyhágomellék, and undertake all the goals that the founders - the responsibility and the responsibility of the Hungarian national community in Transylvania recognizing their duty - they formulated at the start of the college and then at the university. Accordingly, the Charter of the Partium Christian University marks the basis on which the 21st century is founded in the conscious values ​​of Christian values ​​and Hungarian spirituality, as well as the centuries-old traditions of Hungarian higher education. century modern and competitive university.

The institutional accreditation of the Partium Christian University was sanctioned by Act No 196 of 21 October 2008, voted by two Houses of the Romanian Parliament. According to the law, the Partium Christian University is a Hungarian-language higher education institution, a private and public benefit legal person with private status.

The Partium Christian University is an integral part of the European Higher Education Area and of the Hungarian higher education system in Romania. From the beginning of its history, the recognition led to the fact that the autonomous university organized in the mother tongue for the Transylvanian Hungarian minority is the same thing as the establishment of a complete institutional system of native language public education. Starting from this principle, beyond the current educational and scientific tasks, the University also plays a strategic role in the field of national policy. Our goal is to ensure equal opportunities for our Hungarian national community living in Transylvania and Partium in the field of education and to create competitive professionals for our community, according to the requirements of high quality education and science.

In this mission, our University strives to realize the following principles and aspects: the validation of Christian and universal human values; preserving and developing the identity of our national community; Providing professional training and further training to meet Partium's regional needs; providing a competitive, quality education and research; the transparent, consistent operation of the university, the validation of the values ​​of professionalism and academic spirit; the establishment of wide-ranging institutional relations, the practice of university autonomy provided by law.

Our goal is to create a university community in which the value system of Christian love, justice, consistency, solidarity and moral behavior prevails and radiates.
