Pentrebane Primary School

Pentrebane primary school is an English medium school set in spacious grounds providing ample opportunities for outdoor play and activities. In addition to two playgrounds we have a large field for sports. Alongside this is a woodland area that is used as an outside classroom to enhance the children’s learning through forest schools. There is also an outdoor structure used for outdoor learning. During playtimes the children have access to tyre parks, a willow shelter, a slide, a wooden climbing frame, a quiet seated area, a stage and a pirate ship and a playhouse.

This site is safe and secure, being surrounded by fencing and locked gates, this helps to provide you with the confidence and assurance that your child is protected at all times. There are CCTV cameras located around the outside of the school for security and safety. This building is on three levels and all of the classrooms are spacious. The learning environment is enhanced by colourful displays celebrating the children’s work. Pupils have access to male and female toilets on each floor.

The headteacher and secretary’s office are located on the ground floor. Also on the ground floor is the foundation phase consisting of the Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and a literacy support classroom. Both nursery and reception have their own separate entrances and outdoor play areas.

Our large hall is used for assemblies, lunch, PE lessons, breakfast club, after school clubs, and our regular coffee mornings. Located on the first and second floors are further Y2 foundation phase and KS2 classrooms, ELSA, nurture in our wellbeing suite ALN, support rooms for maths and reading and specialist resource base.
