We are looking for a person who can present a recognized architectural work as an actively designing architect. In the publication and the work, innovative approaches of spatial models and design strategies are to be demonstrated. In research and teaching, excellent technical knowledge in the field of spatial design and design methodology is expected.
The department “Architectural Design and Space” studies and teaches the basis of the design and effect of spaces and spatial structures in their different influences of light, proportion, immateriality and the contextual references of the location down to the tectonics in detail. The focus of this field of study is the phenomenological and aesthetic analysis of spatial theory as well as the exploration of new spatial elements and materials. Collaboration within the department with other subject areas and in interdisciplinary focuses within the university is desired.
Research activities in the areas of design methodology and spatial design as well as the development of new spatial models in the context of cultural and societal change are to be developed.
A pronounced willingness for national and international cooperation and interdisciplinary work both within the faculty and with other departments and research institutions is expected. Didactic-educational suitability as well as willingness to co-operate in academic self-administration are presupposed. Very good knowledge of German or English is desirable.
The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German “W-Besoldung” and subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university directorate.
