We seek to appoint a Professor in Writing Studies and Rhetoric to help shape the department’s future at a transformational point in its history. That applicant will be a leading authority in Writing Studies and Rhetoric, with a strong profile in publishing, obtaining research grants, and in enriching research cultures through mentorship and example. They will have a proven record in curriculum development and a demonstrated commitment to inventive and effective teaching. The successful applicant will be central to the successful implementation of the proposed Major and to the ongoing extension of the department’s teaching program. That applicant will have a record of collegial governance and will be expected to take up the role of Chair of Department. They will use that leadership position to promote the department’s culture of research and teaching excellence.
Term and remuneration
The position is offered on a continuing basis, subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. The successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
