Project Engineer

Job Summary

Due to our continued growth in the region Jacobs are hiring a Project Engineer in the UAE. You would be involved in a wide variety of engineering tasks on large scale infrastructure projects including detailed engineering and infrastructure master plans.

You should be able to work independently in the design and modelling of wet utiliy networks and systems. You should have excellent coordination skills and be able to lead teams both in the office and remotely.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and who have exceptional communication, analytical and leadership skills. Responsibilities include:

• Undertake designs, modelling, calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, investigations, and bills of quantities for Infrastructure Wet Utilities.
• Develop designs from concept through the detailed design process and then onto final Authority approvals. Develop IFC and provide support to construction team.
• Coordinate the delivery of design outputs including the necessary quality assurance checking.
• Liaise with authorities, the client, consultants, contractors and other members of the wider organization.
• Review and inspect construction activities and to ensure compliance with designs, drawings and specifications.
• Review and approve documentation, such as shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, etc. as required.

Here’s What You’ll Need

• Have wet utilities design experience.
• Have extensive experience in Civil 3D/BIM for infrastructure projects.
• Be able to draw and integrate utilities/infrastructure networks.
• Be able to undertake clash analysis for utilities independently.
• Know and be able to work independently with relevant softwares.
• Have the ability to utilize the BIM technology and models in design, construction and commissioning of the related works.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Civil Engineering)
• 10+ years of related engineering experience (mainly in designs & modeling)
• Excellent written and oral communications skills (in English)
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.
• Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
