Providence Academy

Providence Academy was established in 1994 to establish low fee school for the diverse community of the Republic of South Africa. The curriculum offered by the school is CAPS and is monitored by the Gauteng Department of Education. Learners at Providence Academy sit for National Examinations.

Providence academy combined school is committed to the development of all facets of the child, namely intellectual, emotional spiritual and physical.

Providence academy is committed to an education whereby the child will be given the opportunity to learn the necessary life skills which will enable him/her to succeed in a changing society, interaction between all stakeholders, community, teaching staff and learners will be encouraged.

In order to accomplish our mission, we are committed to the appointment of the best available qualified staff that will be able to respect the diverse values, cultures and norms within the school.

The school has a well-functioning computer Laboratory. We offer basic computer classes to Grade R – 9. Learners are offered computer Literacy for exposure to Information Technology Environment. Computer Literacy will not be formally accessed and therefore will not appear in learners’ reports.

Often educational tours use multimedia to visually grab attention and encourage students to partake in an enjoyable learning experience. However, in the classroom these exposed sensors may be limited. Students are more likely to enjoy and learn from a history class located in the centre of where it all began, than in the classroom. If you’re a teacher that struggles to grab your student’s attention from time to time, school tours and field trips are sure to spark excitement to learn. Reinforcing the course material and allowing the lesson to come to life, gives them the opportunity to visualise, experience and discuss the information, allowing students to recall the experience long after the trip. Taking the students out of the classroom and into a new environment allows them to work as a team with other classmates outside of their normal group. Not only that, but they make lifelong memories among peers, which is no doubt a fun learning experience in itself
