At Pulteney we are justifiably proud of our history and traditions whilst providing a dynamic, vibrant and contemporary co-educational experience for all of our students. We are a city school and we make the most of every opportunity to leverage all that the wonderful City of Adelaide provides. Our Learning and Performance Culture focuses on three key areas: Students, Learning and Community. We put students at the heart of what we do. We seek to inspire a passion for learning and we honour and enhance our unique community values and relationships.

Importantly, we are a strong and supportive community where our size of approximately 1000 students, ELC-12, enables us to know and nurture each individual. Our unique four sub-school structure (Early Learning, Prep, Middle School and one ninety, Pulteney's Senior College) allows the Heads of Sub-Schools to know first-hand the 250 individual students and families through small class sizes.

We seek to ensure our students are engaged actively in their learning and are developing confidence in their own abilities to take on challenges, develop their critical and creative thinking and make strong connections with their community at local, national and global levels. We provide an extensive range of subjects that cater to individual interests and complement these though quality programs in sport, music, drama, debating, public speaking, community service and many more.

The outstanding academic results of 2017 culminated in 40% of Year 12 students gaining an ATAR of 90+. Additionally, 19% of the cohort received an ATAR of 95+ placing them in the top 5%, and 3.2% of our students achieved a score of 99 or more which places them in the top 1% of the nation. These results are recognition of the level of student scholarship and staff commitment to teaching excellence. More than ever, we are supporting our students to grow personally and academically and that is the forward thinking difference we are proud to offer at Pulteney.

In a friendly and caring environment, enhanced by all year levels sharing one campus, interactions across the range of student ages are fostered. A supportive and inclusive system of pastoral care ensures every student can identify key adults and also peers with whom they can communicate and collaborate. This builds community and School spirit and supports the wellbeing of each student.

We are very pleased and excited to advise the entire Pulteney Grammar School community of significant developments in the delivery of our Strategic Plan, relating to our fourth strategic priority “An innovative and integrated learning environment. The Board has approved this project to begin construction in early 2017, to open our new facility in mid-2018.  It promises to be one of the most amazing learning spaces in the Adelaide market, will be a huge boost to our community and the learning of our middle school students.

The new facility will be built on the site of the current Memorial Building (currently housing the Senior Library, classrooms, Archives and some eServices infrastructure).  We intend to demolish this building during the Christmas holidays, ensuring that the site is cleared at a time when students and staff are not in attendance.

During construction of the new facility, we will use some modular classrooms on the school site.  While this might create some initial concern, we can assure all students, staff and parents, that these learning spaces will be spacious and well equipped.  No learning will be compromised while we take this massive step forward in the evolution of our School.  The School’s leaders will finalise timetables and room allocations and further communication will occur on this. All necessary planning approvals are currently being finalised.
