Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin

Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin (RMUTR) was established in 2005 as one of nine universities named Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT). The creation of these universities reflects the intent of the national education act to empower the state’s institutions of higher learning to enjoy more liberty in administering education under the Commission of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education. Thus, these newly created universities are enabled to independently assert excellence in their academic and administrative development. They manage higher vocational education based on science and technology of high standard with the aim of developing the human capacity through academic and technological input with a practical approach.

Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin (RMUTR) is a governmental university, provided science and technology education, under the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education. RMUTR is operated under the operation of University Council and followed the university’s missions, which are producing the quality graduate in arts and sciences for being the SMART Entrepreneur; conducting research and creating inventions, innovations and valuable creations to meet the community and society’s demand; providing and being the center of academic services to meet the local community’s demand; preserving and reviving art and culture, environment and local wisdom; administration and management for developing to be the quality university; developing the personnel to be professional; and increasing the capability to the international competition.

RMUTR provided the education of undergraduate (bachelor’s degrees) for the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Industry and Technology, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Industry, Faculty of Architecture and Design and Poh-Chang Academy of Arts. RMUTR also provided the education of graduate (master’s degrees and doctoral’s degrees) for Rattanakosin College for Sustainable Energy and Environment (RCSEE) and Rajamangala Rattanakosin College of Innovation Management (RCIM).

Purposes of RMUTR:

• To equip the graduates with the knowledge, competence and potential to achieve international standards.
• To generate basic and applied research for the development of knowledge useful in education and for the sustainable development of the country.
• To provide the communities and the society with academic services that aim to transfer knowledge to them, to develop the communities, their organizations, and the country’s economy.
• To give the people insight into how to sustain art and culture, as well as how to protect the environment and revive local wisdom.
• To establish an efficient administrative system to respond to the need for transparency and accountability.
