Discover, Believe, Flourish are three words which greatly encapsulate our vision at Redeemer Lutheran School. As a learning community we strive to ‘Inspire every child to discover, believe and flourish in their world, today and tomorrow.’ As you discover and explore our website I hope you gain many insights into how these three objectives are realised throughout our many and varied school programs and extra-curricula opportunities.
Our School motto “Grow Up To Christ”, comes from Ephesians 4:15 and underpins all we do as a learning community. We are proud of our long Lutheran heritage and encourage our children to live the values of courage, compassion, appreciation, justice and forgiveness, striving for quality, hope, love, humility and service.
Redeemer is an exciting place to work and serve. As Principal, I am proud of what our community is achieving and as we work together to build an innovative, dynamic, vibrant and truly unique Christian school. The recent launch of our new Strategic Plan, ‘Towards 2020’ demonstrates the School’s commitment to providing an exciting and 21stcentury learning environment for all in our community.
Situated on 20 hectares of picturesque Barossa bushland, our school offers a unique nature play experience designed to not only improve student wellbeing and resilience, but also our children’s collaboration and creation skills. Our state of the art facilities provide a flexible and 21st Century learning environment, giving our students the ideal environment to grow, learn and flourish.
Redeemer is known as a caring and family oriented, Christian school with a strong focus on developing community and connectedness. At Redeemer, your child and your family will be warmly welcomed and supported to provide the best schooling experience possible.
Redeemer proudly offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) from Early Learning to Year 7. The PYP is an international framework, a philosophy and a way of teaching developed by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). This quote from Nobel Prize winner, Albert Einstein, supports the practice of inquiry learning and critical and creative thinking as the foundation for teaching at an IB PYP School. Redeemer is committed to academic engagement and achievement and our children have the privilege of learning in an environment built on best practice and recognised through IB World School Accreditation.
Our talented teaching staff endeavour to provide an individualised learning approach for each child in their care. Through regular, globally-recognised professional development and the support of our school’s director of teaching and learning, our teachers are best placed to provide your child with a strong foundation for successful learning. Our school is the only primary school in the Barossa structured entirely in single grades and we have two classes at each year level. As part of Redeemer’s commitment to best-practice teaching we do not use multi-age or composite classes.
Our classroom teaching staff are supported by specialist teaching staff in the areas of Physical Education; Science, Engineering and Technology; Library; Learning Enrichment; Wellbeing; Japanese and Performance Arts. All our specialist programs have been carefully designed to ensure that we develop the whole child and cater for 21st Century learners.
Our Early Learning Centre welcomes children from 3½ years of age up to the age of 5 and then they can begin Reception At Redeemer. We pride ourselves on providing students with a smooth transition to school through visits to our primary school and accessing school facilities during the week. The quality of our ELC has been recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) who rated our centre as Exceeding the National Quality Standard in all areas.
Our ELC program is underpinned by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) and based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, as well as aligning with the national Early Years Learning Framework, ‘Belonging, Being, Becoming’. Our program is specifically designed to provide outstanding learning opportunities, with a particular emphasis on play-based learning and the communication, social and emotional development this facilitates.
