A research assistant position is available in the laboratories of Dr. Osama Aldirbashi and Dr. Fatma Al Jasmi, Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. The position is to develop novel analytical methods for small molecule analysis to investigate various inborn errors of metabolism. The position involves preparation of biological samples, acquiring data on state-of-the-art liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry, and analyzing the data obtained using advanced analysis softwares.
The position is supported by a grant from the United Arab Emirates University initially for one year. Salary is tax-free, commensurate with training and experience. The successful candidates should have at least an MSc degree in bioanalytical chemistry or a related discipline. Hands on experience in liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry is required. In addition, the successful candidate should have research experience in more than one of the following areas: HPLC, GC-MS, tissue culture, enzyme assays, molecular techniques (PCR, qPCR) and analytical method development.
