A Catholic school is a community of love and hope. It provides young people with a Catholic education, which perceives life as a faith journey. The ultimate aim of a Catholic school is to develop the full potential of all young people, leading to their life-long activities being guided by the Spirit and presence of Christ, in the service of God and of others.

Catholic education is distinctive in placing all learning and teaching in a Catholic moral context and in both challenging and supporting young people to develop in mind, body and spirit. The role of a Catholic school is to help everyone in the school community to discover the true value and dignity of each and every human being who, loved by God, has a mission on earth and a destiny which is eternal.

The Catholic school is an open community, concerned with the education of the whole person. It presents a unique, clear vision of God, people and life, centered on Gospel values and reflective of the teaching of the Catholic Church. Hence, the formation of each person is regarded as being as important as the information which is transmitted through the teaching offered.

The Catholic school is supported in its mission by the active partnership of the home, the school and the parish. Together, they provide support for the faith community, helping to form and develop in all a mature Christian conscience, and in addressing the increasingly secular influences of popular culture.

The children in year 5 created Eucharistic boxes as part of their RE homework. These boxes are to be used for the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. At St. Raphael's School we are very proud of our faith. This is reflected in our learning environment, seen in corridors, classrooms and outside.

Our pupils are our greatest ambassadors. Every visitor to our school mentions the exceptional standards of behaviour exhibited by our pupils. Here you will see pupils striving to live out our mission statement:

Central to our aims as a Catholic school, is to ensure that we work in a spirit of partnership with you, our parents, developing our respective roles and responsibilities, to teach children about respect, mutual understanding, and to deepen their relationship with God. When your child joins our school, we embark on a journey together, a journey unknown but yet full of endless possibilities.

Our teaching and support staff are committed to ensuring that every child makes good progress, of course they are, however in St Raphael's we are committed to developing the whole child. We are committed to making sure that every child leaves our school knowing that they have a responsibility for others, that they are the eyes of Christ in this world, they are His hands, they are His feet.

We are committed to making sure every child leaves our school understanding that they need to keep themselves healthy, enjoy a sport, play an instrument and take part in team activities examples include debating, science fair and choir.

Safety is our prime concern and so all staff working at St Raphael's Catholic Primary school are committed to safe working practices and keeping our pupils safe.

The children at St. Raphael’s know they are a source of great pride to us; they respond to the high standards set for them. We look forward to working with our established families, and those who are new to our school, to make every child’s time here happy and successful.
