Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students

The Italian government, under its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is offering scholarships for international graduate and postgraduate students in Italy. Eligible applicants for the scholarship are all EU and non-EU students who wish to obtain a master’s or doctoral degree from a university in Italy. Interested graduate students should take a study program related to arts, music, dance, language, and culture, and not be more than 28 years old on the date of application. Also, interested postgraduate students should not be more than 30 years old. The age limit for interested students who want to enroll in a research project under academic supervision is 40. For study programs which are entirely taught in English, applicants do not need to submit a language proficiency in Italian. Otherwise, they should be proficient in the Italian language.

Annual applications for the Italian Government Scholarships close on the 30th of April. Successful applicants may be entitled to a full enrollment and tuition fee exemption, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend amounting to €900 ($1,027). The scholarship covers 3 months to a maximum of 9 months, depending on the study program selected.

University of Bologna Study Grants for International Students

One of the oldest universities in the world, the University of Bologna, is providing study grants for international students who wish to pursue an undergraduate or graduate study program at the university. Eligible applicants should not be more than 30 years old on the date of application. They also have to take the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) before the application deadline.

Annual applications for the scholarship close on the 30th of March (for the first cycle or undergraduate programs) and the 30th of April (for the second cycle or graduate programs). Successful applicants are entitled to a full tuition fee waiver plus a study grant amounting to €11,059 ($12,626). The scholarship is good for an academic year and may be renewed on specific calls for application.

UNIPV International Scholarships for Developing Countries

The University of Pavia (UNIPV) is looking for interested international students who wish to pursue a graduate study program at the university. The scholarship is available for all students from developing countries. Bocconi Merit and International Awards

The Bocconi University in Milan, under its Bocconi Merit and International Awards, is offering scholarships to international students who want to study an undergraduate or graduate degree program in the university. All nationalities are invited to send in their application. Eligible applicants are those who are interested in pursuing any first cycle study program or a science-related second cycle program in the Bocconi University.

Applications close on the 31st of May for graduate programs and on the 15th of June for undergraduate programs. Successful applicants will either be included in the Merit Award or the Bocconi International Award. Those who are Merit Award grantees will get a full tuition fee waiver, an annual stipend of €12,000 ($13,700) for undergraduate students or €13,000 ($14,842) for graduate students, and in some cases an accommodation at the Bocconi Residences. For Bocconi International Award grantees, the tuition fees for their study program will be reduced to 50%.
