The Ministry for Home Affairs, Education and Environment usually provides holiday dates for schools to follow. The school year usually begins in mid-August and ends in early July.

St. Joseph’s Day is observed on March 19th in celebration of St. Joseph who was the husband of Virgin Mary and the earthly father of Jesus.

Easter Monday is observed after Easter Sunday in celebration of Jesus’ resurrection.

Labor Day is also referred to as May Day or International Workers Day. This day is observed on May 1st in celebration of the achievements of the labor movement.
Ascension Day
Ascension Day marks the ascension of Jesus into heaven after His resurrection and is celebrated 40 days after Easter.
Whit Monday
Whit Monday, also referred to as Pentecost Monday, is observed approximately seven weeks after Easter in celebration of the descending of the Holy Spirit in the manifestation of flames to the Apostles.
Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi is observed on the second Thursday after Whit Sunday. Corpus Christi means the Body of Christ and signifies the elements of the Eucharist or the Holy Communion.
Liechtenstein National Day
This day is observed on August 15th in celebration of the birthday of Prince Franz Josef II as well as the Feast of Assumption.
Nativity of Our Lady
Also known as Feast of Our Lady of Victories, Nativity of Our Lady is observed on November 8th in celebration of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus.
All Saints’ Day
Also known as the Feast of Saints, Hallows’ Day or Hallowmas, All Saints’ Day is celebrated on November 1st in commemoration of all the Christian Saints.
Feast of the Immaculate Conception
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8th in commemoration of the Christian belief that Mary the mother of Jesus was preserved from original sin all her life.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day is observed on December 25th in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ according to the Gregorian calendar.
St. Stephen’s Day
Also known as Boxing Day or Second Day of Christmas, St. Stephen’s Day is celebrated on December 26th. This day is observed in commemoration of St. Stephen who was the first Christian martyr.
