The Ministry of Education in Italy oversees schools in Rome. Rome follows the same school calendar for Lazio schools, which include Viterbo, Frosinone, Latina, and Rieti.

In Rome, the school year lasts from September to June. The school year is divided into either two or three terms, from September to January and January to June, or September to January, January to March and March to June.

New Year’s Day

The feast celebrates the immaculate conception of Mary. It is held nine months before the feast of the Nativity.

Christmas Day
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. It is celebrated every December 25th.

Giorno di Santo Stefano (St. Stephen’s Day)
St. Stephen was the first Christian martyr. This day commemorates his martyrdom.
