Secondary Teacher of Biology

Job Summary

Our partner school is seeking a secondary teacher of biology to start immediately.The school is a UK curriculum school located within Abu Dhabi UAE.

• Have an in-depth knowledge of the subject to be able to answer questions from students and teach content contained in school standards.
• Goes beyond the basics of biology to impart specific wisdom to students.
• Passion for the topic should always be evident, to the degree that students will want to learn more about this life science.
• Develop curricula, present lessons, evaluate student performance.
• In charge of preparing and grading examinations, working with parents on student performance, and supervising student behavior.
• Work in teams with the rest of the faculty to prepare standardized tests.
• Participate in the planning of and implementation of their school’s policies and regulations for all students.
• Make accurate and productive use of assessment including using data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons.
• Give students regular feedback, both orally and, through accurate and diagnostic marking in line with the School’s marking policy encouraging students to respond to the feedback.
• Record and make use of summative and formative assessments to secure progress.
  Undertaking pastoral duties.
• Participate in meetings at school, which relate to the curriculum for the school or the administration or organisation of the school, including pastoral arrangements.
• Attend parents’ meetings and be appropriately prepared to discuss student achievement and well-being.
• Participate in arrangements for further training and professional development as a teacher.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Education or the subject intended to teach specialized in a specific cycle/stage.
• PGCE certificate
• At least 4 years of teaching experience in the subject intended to teach in the English National Curriculum
• Holding an ADEK licence is beneficial
• Possess valid references, police checks
• Candidates with pastoral experience and expertise are encouraged to apply
