Job Summary
As a Security Manager – HUB Operations you will ensure that Emirates Airlines security operations are compliant with all regulatory and aviation industry requirements, through the management, planning and development of security systems in response to regulatory requirements from destination states as well as from ICAO and IATA. Lead, manage and monitor the effectiveness of measures implemented by conducting regular evaluations and inspections of the aviation security operations at Dubai International Airport.
In this role, you will:
- Identify and recommend the use of technology and robust processes. Depending on areas of deployment these will include the optimal deployment of CCTV Cameras, security declaration systems, data matching systems scanners, storing devices, access control, office automation and etc. Conduct risk assessments and security audits for all new and existing Critical Infrastructure facilities of the Group. This is to be presented to the senior management for their evaluation and direction.
- Continuously develop policies and practices aimed at improving service quality at the workplace, simplifying and introducing process efficiencies where required by factoring in the different security requirements of various local and international authorities including special movement as well as developing, implementing, and managing security operations and procedures at high threat/vulnerable stations within the network.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior airport authority members, law enforcement agencies, immigration, border control agencies, and airline personnel in order to obtain their support in the overall achievement of secured operational objectives and in achieving customer satisfaction in line with airline regulations, state and international legislation.
- Represent Emirates Group Security when dealing with external contacts in regards to all security breaches depending on areas of responsibility.
- Manage, develop, implement and operationalize security standards and procedures to ensure the regulatory requirements of governing bodies including the GCAA, immigration, DCAA (Dubai Civil Aviation Authority), DA (Dubai Airports), the Police and the Ministry of Interior are met in a practical and cost effective manner in line with the requirements of the relevant agencies and immigration and other requirements by foreign AA (Appropriate Authorities under ICAO ANNEX 17 ) and border control agencies.
- Align department strategies in accordance with best practice and requirements stipulated by relevant global/industry regulations, prevailing threat situations, the NCASP, guidelines/requirements of
organisations such as ICAO and IATA (CAWG) to ensure optimum levels of security protection.
- Set clear and consistent performance objectives, implement performance management and development plans to ensure standards of performance and productivity are achieved and maintained enabling a high performance culture for the Unit.
Specific to Operations
- Manage the revenue streams of the relevant operational areas where group security provides services and support the Manager Security with the management of local and outstation operations including US, EU and Australian Destinations and/or airlines who have enlisted the travel document check services.
- Develop, maintain and implement an Aviation Security Programme to promote the level of awareness and subsequent acceptance, for UAE operations, with reference to GCAA and other governmental requirements.
- Develop, implement and manage security operations and procedures in the hub to mitigate the effects from the high threat situations in stations across the network, in order to achieve compliance with all aviation security mandates and covering all aspects of operations. Compile detailed reports and advise the airline operations on aviation security matters as per AOSP (Airline Operator Security Program) and SMS (Security Management System) ensuring that all operational aspects of the Group are in adherence. Liaise with the appropriate authorities to operationalize mandated extraordinary Security Procedures.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- 8+ years experience in Airline, Airport, or Cargo Security.
- Degree in Aviation Security or any other business related discipline.
- Experience in aviation security environment preferably with an international airline.
- Should have the knowledge of of the TSA, ACC3, OTS, UK DeTR requirements apart from the international AVSEC requirements of ICAO and IATA.
- Should be skilled in problem solving, strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, tracking Budget Expenses, Staffing, Quality Management, Managing Processes, Organization, Coaching, Communication Processes, Disciplining Employees, Motivating Others, Promoting Process Improvement, Reporting skills.
