Security Manager

Job Summary

The Security Manager is responsible for the establishment of the security infrastructure for a medium sized (approx. 30 staff) project in Kuwait.  This role is key to the successful fulfilment of the project, due to the establishment of pragmatic security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of project staff, their families and the Company’s infrastructure, information and reputation. This is currently a 1 year fixed term contract opportunity, with potential for a permanent position in the future.

What you’ll be doing

• Ensure all project staff and their families are provided security and cultural awareness training upon arrival in country.
• Carry out apartment, villa, hotel and office security assessments to ensure they are fit for purpose and suitable for the threat picture – throughout the project life cycle.
• Develop sound working relationships with local law enforcement agencies and Embassies to ensure that the project is aware of the evolving threat landscape.
• Advise project leadership to the evolving threat landscape and provide sound security advice to mitigate risks.
• Ensure that all in-country and in-region project staff and their families are accounted for at all times.
• Locate, lead and advise staff during times of crisis or major incidents.
• Ensure that key project information assets are identified and appropriately protected.
• As required ensure that the offices and accommodation and vehicles of senior project staff receive TSCM sweeps.

What we’re looking for

• Extensive experience living/working in the Middle East.
• Previous military/police/intelligence agency experience essential.
• Must be able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
• Ability to initiate crisis response programs and manage crisis incidents.
• Experience in managing Travel Security programs.
• Extensive experience of developing, initiating and managing security focused protocols. Including: site security assessments, implementing security mitigation measures.
• Significant experience with all levels of threat assessment and related mitigation pertaining to personnel, data and assets;
• Experience in monitoring, analyzing and reporting on geopolitical issues and security threats.
• Health and Safety qualifications a positive.
• Driver Training qualifications advantageous.
