Job Summary
A Security Officer at Sofitel Dubai The Palm is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hotel premises, guests, and staff. This role involves monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the property, handling emergency situations, and enforcing hotel policies and procedures. The Security Officer is also tasked with providing assistance to guests, maintaining a visible presence, and ensuring a peaceful and secure environment throughout the hotel. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety are essential for this position.
Job Description
- Provide consistent, professional, and proactive guest service while collaborating with colleagues.
- Regularly patrol all areas and buildings to ensure safety and security.
- Address and manage the presence of trespassers or unauthorized individuals on the property.
- Carry out security and baggage checks as necessary.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of guests and colleagues.
- Observe and report any vehicle violations on the property, including parking issues, speeding, and dangerous driving.
- Respond promptly to activated fire prevention systems, investigate causes, and report findings.
- Address guest and staff concerns, offering first aid and casualty care in a timely, compassionate, and helpful manner.
- Build and maintain strong, effective working relationships with all departments.
- Record daily shift activities and provide relevant information to hotel departments for follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate, hotel, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in hotel committees as needed.
- Perform any other duties, tasks, or assignments as required within the department.
Qualifications
- Previous security or safety experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is required; Advanced First Aid certification is preferred.
- Completion of fire safety or firefighter training is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities, are required.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, multi-cultural team environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to focus on guest needs while maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Strong work ethic, responsibility, reliability, and the ability to work rotating shifts (both day and night), split shifts, extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays are essential.
