In 1940, Sejong University created a place of learning dedicated to excellence in education and research. Navigating successfully the rough seas of Korea’s modern history, Sejong has faithfully continued its tradition of producing competitive graduates that society required and cultivating the latest innovations that served as the new engine of economic growth. Years of this endeavor have resulted in one of Korea’s most distinguished and prominent academic institutions, and Sejong is now poised to make another leap, aiming to become a university with global recognition.
Today, we are witnessing the rapid transformation of our knowledge-based society built on a robust IT industry into the so-called “Smart Society” underpinned by wide-ranging mobile devices, facilitating the development of a ubiquitous environment where person-to-person, person-to-object and object-to-object communication can occur in real time. This change of enormous magnitude poses challenges for universities everywhere that question their reason for being. The current times demand nothing less than a fundamental change and innovation and a paradigm shift in research and education.
Gratefully, Sejong University was early to spot these changes and has proactively responded to them. This led to many valuable accomplishments: the university was named a Resource and education.
Gratefully, Sejong University was early to spot these changes and has proactively responded to them. This led to many valuable accomplishments: the university was named a Resource Development Specialization University; its business school was re-awarded the international AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) certification; the Graphene Research Institute was named a Priority Research Center by the National Research Foundation of Korea; the university was awarded a Brain Korea 21 project; and the Department of National Defense System was newly created. Faced with these recent challenges, the university has adopted the PLB (Problem-Based Learning) approach, expanded its internship and industry-academia partnership programs, and added inter-disciplinary courses and classics courses to facilitate multi-disciplinary thinking, establishing a curriculum that stresses the three core values of the Smart Era – Creativity, Specialty and Ethics. In terms of educational infrastructure, we implemented a next-generation integrated system to build a “Smart Campus” that enables “Ubiquitous Education.”
These efforts will provide a foundation for the university to combine the research capabilities that put the university's science, technology and engineering departments among the top ten in Korea and the strengths of its art & physical education department that is one of the best in the country to fuel the new growth engine and serve as a hotbed for entrepreneurship and innovation, which is expected to help ease the youth unemployment problem. As part of this effort, we created a plan to open a Sejong-TED entrepreneurship school capitalizing on information and communication technologies and Sejong’s competence in the fields of design and entertainment. This school will be open to anyone who is interested in starting a business and is expected to help the university proactively respond to the challenges of the global economy. A university that leads change, instead of reacting to it, and one that communicates with the world to bring changes to the world and plays an important role in turning the world into one unified community – that is the future we envision and what we aspire to become.
We have dreams and the capability and passion to turn them into reality, which will allow us to write new history every day. And we will continue on this path of new challenges and creative innovation.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I leave with a pleasant feeling that King Sejong's spirit of love for the country and people is hidden everywhere. I hope that it grows into a university recognized around the world and that it becomes a university comparable to Seoul National University in Korea. Good luck.

As I am not a student attending school, evaluation is not easy. It's nice that the parking lot is spacious. It is convenient to have not only regular beverage vending machines, but also capsule coffee vending machines. lol

Great MBA program taught 100% in English that is accredited, taught by a blend of Sejong and Arizona State University professors. Flexible evening and daytime courses are offered to cater to everyone. I attended their 2 year program and utilized their evening, executive type courses from 7 to 10pm 2 days a week plus a few hours on Saturday. About 100 total students, class size of roughly 15 each. Highly recommended MBA for 5 million won per semester for 4 semester/2yr program. Sejong's SASMBA is not a lecture only program. The classroom environment is highly engaging with interactive discussions and HBR case studies.

A private university located in front of Children’s Grand Park. It is built on flat land, making it easy to look around the inside. Also, the menu items sold in the school cafeteria are inexpensive and delicious. It is not large, so it takes about 15 minutes from the front door to the back door. Children's Grand Park is right across from the main gate, making it easy to go out.

This university is open to public for those who want to explore. You can also eat inside their cafeteria and experience being a local student here in Korea. The place is great for a stroll. Lots of trees. They also have stores inside.
