Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our Finance team in the newly created role of Senior Accountant. This role has been designed to provide support and insight through the creation of quality financial and management information to our Senior Leadership team and other relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you’ll get the opportunity work with operational Heads of Department to deliver accurate and timely forecasts of financial performance. You’ll take ownership of the monthly P&L performance, understanding the reasons behind the monthly result. You’ll feel comfortable to analyse and challenge the monthly accounts and spending, ensuring costs are kept in line with budget and process is followed to deliver expected financial outcomes across the business.

• Overseeing ledger reconciliation through monthly and quarterly balance sheets.
• Assist with delivering year end reporting, external audit and statutory requirements.
• Review and test internal controls, identifying improvements required to maintain robust controls.
• Becoming the departmental lead for systems knowledge and understanding of group systems, including our data warehouse.

Required Skills

You’ll be part or newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA) with 1-2 years’ experience within a financial role which has held a commercial focus. Ideally, you’ll also have had some experience with Management Accounting in the past.
