Senior Cybersecurity Technical Engineer - Zscaler

Job Summary

As Senior Cybersecurity Technical Engineer – Zscaler, you will build, manage and operate security technologies in compliance to corporate policy and standards. Ensure security designs meet business requirements and address risk.

In this role you will:

• Lead the discovery projects and build high level designs to accomplish business needs while prioritizing cyber risk reduction.
• Manage the cybersecurity technology lifecycle from conception to service operation.
• Make design decisions aligning to security principles. Coordinate with internal teams to build support for design decisions and favorable risk reduction outcomes.
• Build technical documentation for cybersecurity technology designs, operations and support the creation of associated security technology standards.
• Facilitate the ongoing review of cybersecurity technology designs and alignment to industry best practices.
• Support the diagnosis and resolution of cybersecurity technology issues as a subject matter expert.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ Years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on emerging technologies, governance, and risk management.
• Industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent advanced security certifications are highly desirable.
• Extensive hands on experience across Enterprise Network Security, Information and cyber security, supporting large scale, complex environments in private (on premise) and public cloud.
• Strong practical experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud delivered zero trust security platforms, with a particular focus on Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, SSE) within hybrid and cloud first architectures.
• Deep understanding of enterprise network architectures (LAN, WAN, SD WAN, cloud connectivity), secure access models, and identity and access management (IAM) integrations using modern Zero Trust principles.
• Demonstrated expertise in security technologies including Secure Web Gateway (SWG), CASB, ZTNA, Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and email security / MTA architectures.
• Extensive experince as a technical design authority for network security capabilities; behaves as a subject matter expert and thought leader contributing to roadmaps, strategies and patterns for the domain.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot, isolate, and diagnose complex technical and security issues across network, cloud, and security layers, including traffic flows, authentication failures, policy enforcement, and performance degradation.
• Proven capability to operate as a senior technical escalation point, contributing to platform stability, continuous improvement, and secure-by-design outcomes across infrastructure and cybersecurity domains.
