Seoul Foreign School (SFS) serves the international community of our city. We have been "inspiring excellence and building character" for more than 100 years. Starting in 1912 as one classroom of 12 students, we have grown into the vibrant and dynamic learning environment we are today.
A sense of caring is at the heart of our mission. The importance of guiding, supporting and challenging each one of our students is what defines our school’s approach.
Seoul Foreign School, Centered in Christ, inspires a passion for learning, pursues academic and creative excellence and is dedicated to the service of others.
SFS enrolls students from all religious backgrounds and welcomes all as integral members of our diverse community. “Centered in Christ” means that our community lives, works, and builds relationships following the example of Christ himself.
The Mission in Action is a clear articulation of the SFS Mission Statement as a process, encapsulating all we do as a school. The Mission in Action links the Christ-Like Attitudes to ‘Inspiring a Passion for Learning and Pursuing Academic and Creative Excellence’ through existing curricular and co-curricular programs, leading to ‘Service of Others’ and impacting our communities.
Seoul Foreign School is fully accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The British School was inspected and approved by Ofsted British Schools Overseas (BSO).
SFS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school. In 1980, SFS was one of the first 200 schools worldwide authorized to offer the IB program of instruction.
Seoul Foreign School (SFS) fully recognizes its responsibility and unique position as it pertains to child protection. We also realize the importance of both the family and the community in building a safe environment for students. As we continue to work together, the child’s best interest will always be the focus of our efforts. For this reason, Seoul Foreign School has adopted a Child Protection Policy (CPP).
Seoul Foreign School’s Child Protection Policy includes the following:
All children have legal and moral rights to their individuality, that when protected, will develop into the ability to meet the needs of the family, community, and society as a whole. Every child and student in the Seoul Foreign School community will be treated with respect and dignity at all times. Given reasonable cause to believe that any child’s rights have been violated, under any circumstance, SFS will use all available resources to protect those rights.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
This school has earned its elite reputation for a reason: it is the top school in the city and the country. This is for a reason: world class facilities, top-notch teachers, a fantastic student body, and a supportive parent community. The campus is inspiring; the moment you walk on you feel that things are happening and students are learning.

I graduated from Seoul Foreign School in 1959, and was fortunate enough to return in 2008. The school has changed greatly physically, but am glad that it has maintained it's fine academic and spiritual quality for all those years.
