Silkwood School

Silkwood School is a private, government funded independent school accredited by the office of non-state schooling Queensland and affiliated with ISQ (Independent Schools Queensland). It is funded by both the State and Federal Government and parent fees. We are a Prep to Year 12 Campus located within a beautiful bushland setting at Mt Nathan on the Gold Coast. We utilize this setting to place particular emphasis on awareness and respect for our natural environment within our programs.

The Silkwood Way approach uses small class sizes, innovative learning styles, and real-world mentors and learning experiences to intentionally enhance the learning adventure for every student. As such, it is fundamentally different from the standardized model of traditional schooling. Importantly, it’s also a proven way – one that provides an environment for meaningful learning today and better preparation for the challenges of tomorrow.

At Silkwood, we recognize that some students may have higher learning needs than others for support or extension. We focus on using our personalized approach to cater to these needs inside year level advisory classes, classes that have a lower student to Advisor ratio and tailored personal learning plans. To further support this process, each Learning Community at Silkwood is assigned a specialist Learning Enrichment Advisor, who can provide additional specialized input and support to students and Advisors when required.
