We are an independent, coeducational, K-12 Jewish day school, serving the full breadth of the Jewish community in Westchester County and throughout the Tri-State area. Set on two expansive, beautifully landscaped campuses, Schechter Westchester provides students with a rigorous academic program and a broad array of extracurricular opportunities, situated within a dynamic, nurturing community. The members of our faculty represent a wide range of backgrounds and approaches but share the common goal of cultivating an inspirational learning environment that meets the needs of each student. Our curriculum is both modern and timeless, emphasizing such crucial twenty-first-century skills as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and engagement with diversity while resting on a foundation of classical Jewish values.

Our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) program has been enhanced in all three divisions, and it now includes computer-science enrichment programs, a robotics team, and the “Idea Incubator” engineering/fabrication lab in the Upper School. Students receive individual attention both inside and outside the classroom, beginning in kindergarten and extending through our personalized college counseling process. The twelth-grade year is highlighted by our extraordinary capstone program, the Lev v’Nefesh trip to Poland and Israel.

Our task is to use information about the whole child and harness the resources of our faculty to help every student to grow and meet his or her potential as she or he navigates the challenging world of childhood development. Class and grade trips, community service, rich extra-curricular offerings, and student government are just a few of the experiential learning experiences that encourage our to students to question why things are, think about how things might be, and work toward change to insure that they develop knowledge, skills and confidence.

Students with a wide range of academic abilities, learning styles, interests, and talents thrive in our classrooms. Differentiated instruction that includes flexible and fluid learning groups is a regular part of classroom life. Our support services team incorporates learning specialists, psychologists, counselors, enrichment specialists, a speech and language pathologist, and an occupational therapist. Weaving together skills learned in general and Judaic studies, STEAM courses (including engineering and computer science classes across all grades), the arts, athletics, and a broad array of co-curricular programs, our students are well prepared to meet the demands of the twenty-first century world.
