Job Summary
- Educated to PhD standard (or near to completion of) in sport and exercise science or a related subject
- PGCertHE teaching qualification and/or HEA Fellowship recognition (or minimum of 3 years substantial teaching experience for conversion to HEA Fellowship).
- Sport science or related professional bodies accreditation (e.g. BASES)
- Capability to publish research in peer-reviewed journals of international standard
- Capability to develop and manage research projects, and to disseminate results through presentation at relevant
- conferences and publication in relevant journals
- Potential to attract external funding for research
- Effective teaching capability in a relevant subject area, to complement or add to subjects areas of the Extremes Research Group (http://extremes.bangor.ac.uk), the Physical Activity for Health and Wellbeing Centre (www.bangor.ac.uk/sport-health-and-exercise-sciences/pawb)), or the Institute for the Psychology of Elite Performance)
- Experience of module development and delivery in higher education
- Experience of supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects
- Ability to develop innovative and exciting approaches to teaching and research
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Demonstrable IT Skills as required (e.g. VLE techniques and other forms of learning technologies)
- Ability to develop and use online teaching materials
- Demonstrate an understanding of the bilingual nature of the institution and area and the ensuing responsibility.
- The ability to speak Welsh
