St Anne's and Guardian Angels is a 2 form entry Catholic school in Whitechapel in the borough of Tower Hamlets. We aim to live as one family based on Gospel values where mutual respect is practised and where parents and carers are seen as valued partners. Our mission statement 'Excellence together with Christ at the centre' is reflected in and through the daily life of the school. St Anne's and Guardian Angels is a highly inclusive school with priority placed on the richness of learning for all pupils.

Aims and Values

  • Nurturing a love of learning
  • Developing positive and supportive relationships
  • Valuing prayer, worship and faith development
  • Respecting individuals and our environment
  • Working in partnership with parents, the parish and the wider community
  • Celebrating the richness of our cultural diversity

With Christ as our example we aim to promote

  • The search for excellence as an integral part of the spiritual quest
  • The uniqueness of the individual, made in God's image and loved by Him
  • The education of the whole person, based on the belief that the human and the divine are inseparable
  • The education of all, especially anyone who particularly needs our help
  • Moral principles put into practice within a Christian community
  • The education that the children receive is distinctive because we do everything from a Christian perspective

At St Anne's we aim to fulfil our mission by raising attainment through the creation of inclusive cultures, practices and policies. These include equalities and diversity, anti-bullying and anti-racism. At St Anne's School our mission statement is, 'Excellence together with God as our guide.' Our faith is at the heart of everything that we do. At the heart of Catholic education in St Anne’s lies the Christian vision of the human person. Religious education is never simply one subject among many, but the foundation of our entire educational process. The beliefs and values studied in Catholic religious education inspire and draw together every aspect of the life of our school.

Our curriculum is the experience and activities we provide in the school to educate the whole child. The curriculum is designed to develop enjoyment of, and commitment to learning as a means of encouraging and stimulating the best possible progress and the highest attainment for all pupils. It aims to develop pupils’ sense of identity through knowledge and understanding of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural heritages of our diverse society; to enable them to think creatively and critically, to solve problems and to grow into responsible citizens.
