St. Catherine's Moorlands has a strong commitment to excellence in education, encouraging an atmosphere for students to develop both as individuas and as members of our community. Through the acquisition of skills which favour communication and a holistic approach which enables a transfer of knowledge, St Catherine's Moorlands is set on confronting its students with an intellectual challenge. An education based on an appreciation of the student's own culture, a better understanding of others' and the enhancements of values is our contribution to a harmonious world.

The aim of these programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognising their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

The school's objectives for this year are:

  • To offer an educational experiences that focuses on Tripod Learning - this is the combination of self directed learning by the student, the support that parents offer and a teacher that designs learning experiences and ways of learning.
  • To work with flexibility to overcome the demands of this new context and ensure we are providing the best system of education for all.
  • To personalise children and young people's learning in the hybrid system - learning that takes place at home and at school.

Since 1976 we have been offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) along with the official Argentinian curriculum.

Students study six subjects over the course of two years and meet three additional requirements described as core components. In order to obtain the diploma, students must get at least 24 points out of 45. All the subject components are either marked or moderated by external examiners from the IBO.

We favour the psychophysical development of students at different growth stages through graded physical training. This involves learning about their own body and that of others and the environment around them. We do this through games, individual sports and different techniques. We promote respect, friendship and teamwork.

Our overall goal is to ensure that our students are supportive community members who commit to service and who act to impact, positively, on the lives of people. We believe that they can be agents of change in the world in which they live and we encourage their active role in those institutional projects they participate in, taking on increasing levels of responsibility according to their maturity.

We educate our students in faith to encounter Jesus, to assume a commitment in what they believe and to practice the gospel values of respect and love for one´s neighbours.

We also aim they conduct their personal and family life towards a unique goal, that they accomplish a genuine friendship and that they develop a mature personality focused on the values of joy, optimism, simplicity, structure, punctuality, strength, purity and kindness.

Our catechists, supervised by our school´s chaplains, offer preparation for the following sacraments: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation and Reconciliation.

Apart from monthly liturgical celebrations and weekly confessions, activities such as gatherings, spiritual retreats and contributions, with suggestions from the Community Service Department, are carried out.

We provide students with training in information technology to be able to develop a thoughtful, methodical, strategic and logical thinking related to the design, production and use of technologies. We encourage observation, analysis, research, planning, problem solving, self-assessment, creation, innovation, entrepreneurship and teamwork.

Throughout the school career, from Kinder 5 until the third year of our senior school, students receive progressive training in digital technology, product technology, photo and video editing, web design and robotics. Interdisciplinary work is also done with other subjects of the curriculum.

We use the laboratory or the classrooms to work with a wide variety of tools including, among others, interactive boards and Lego robots.
