Choosing a school for your daughter is an important decision. You should reflect on all you know about your daughter and what it is that you want for her and then find out as much as you can about the school you are considering. We hope our website will be useful for you in this.we believe that a good school celebrates its past, enjoys its present and imagines its future; but a truly great school challenges the students to be actively involved in all three of these things for themselves. This is what we do at St Hilda’s.

In regards to the past, our girls know that they stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before them. Special school traditions are enjoyed and the direction of our school leaders is respected and valued. Our school motto, Non Nobis Solum is an important part of our heritage and shapes who we are. It inspires each girl to look out for the needs of others by exercising maturity and empathy. In this way our core values of love, compassion, forgiveness, hope and grace are called upon and become dynamic realities.

St Hilda’s girls certainly know how to enjoy the present. If you visit the school you will sense our friendly and positive community in action. There is much warmth and joy in our school setting and in our boarding houses. Our girls play sport with enthusiasm and excel in music and cultural pursuits. In all their endeavours, our girls are encouraged to take hold of each moment and make it count. Leadership development is also a focus. We believe it is important that the girls are trusted to make decisions, step up to leadership and own responsibilities which will help them to grow.

We know that the very best schooling prepares students for the future. Our girls are entering a world that requires them to be critical and creative thinkers, flexible in the ways they respond to challenges and confident to use technology as a powerful tool. Our modern facilities and commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics enable each girl to confidently harness the possibilities of her future.

A high percentage of women who have become leaders in their field were educated at girls’ schools. Girls perform better at school and in life if they are educated at single-sex schools.
