St. John Fisher is a Catholic Primary School at the heart of the parish community where we love, learn and pray together as one family, rooted in the Gospel values of love, peace and justice. We work in partnership with our parents and the whole community to ensure that our school is a place where every child feels cared for and valued and is supported in achieving to their fullest potential. We are pleased to belong to a family family of Catholic schools called Lumen Christi Catholic Multi Academy. Lumen Christi is Latin for the ‘Light of Christ’. The Lumen Christi mission is simply to work ‘together with trust, respect and love to provide the highest quality of Catholic education to our communities.’

We are passionate about providing the very best education for the children in our care and strive to ensure that their time at St John Fisher will be cherished. We have a talented and dedicated staff who are committed to ensuring that the highest standards of safeguarding, teaching and learning are met for every child.

Children, staff, parents and governors share a great sense of pride in belonging to the St John Fisher School Community. We welcome children of other denominations and faiths into our school whose parents value our Catholic ethos. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and would love to hear from you if you’ve got any ideas you would like to share. Welcome to our St John Fisher curriculum page. We offer all of our children a broad and balanced curriculum which is underpinned by our school mission. Our curriculum is meaningful, relevant and memorable for children.

We are proud of our curriculum offer and have carefully considered the aims and content of our learning sequences to ensure they are progressive, coherent and engaging for our children. We have explored the best ways for our children to ‘remember more’ and therefore ‘know more’ utilising tools such as knowledge organisers and a strengthened approach to home learning. Our children are given opportunities to build on what they have learnt and apply knowledge to new situations. We have woven extensive cultural capital opportunities into our curriculum ensuring that all of our pupils, irrespective of background, are given high quality experiences and knowledge to ensure that they are fully equipped for a successful future.
